The D's, Ancient Kingdom, Gorosei and The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter

Well a few people requested me to post this theory.

This is based on some popular theory called the Halfmoon theory.

Ever wondered what the D meant? Sure you did. It's actually not a D though. It's a halfmoon. It means that these people are partially related to the moon people. Why no one knows it anymore? No one is supposed to. Ever wondered why no one is aware of the sky people. They life in exile. How do I know?
Look at this list. A lot OP races, but wait where are the sky people? The normal people aren't supposed to be aware of them at all. Not even as slaves.

So how does the Ancient Kingdom fit into this? Why are they suddenly related to sky people?
Look at the great tree of Ohara. It only stores information related to archaeology. But why the hell is there a planetary model? They only research stuff related to the Void Century after all. Pretty easy. The Ancient Kingdom is actually the first entry point of the more advanced moon people. That's where they descended and started living on earth. Mixing with the other races. That created the D's. Why are the moon people more advanced? Because they had the Goro Goro no mi. I personally believe that the statement that the Goro Goro no mi gives godlike power is actually also a sign for the status of the person. It's usually eaten by a God of the sky people. The access to electricity allowed them to build stuff like robots way earlier than the earth people.
Doesn't the staff of the guy remind you of Enel's drum? That was probably one of the first God's of the moon that lead the advancement of the moon people.

How does the The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter fit into this? Well some of you are probably familiar with Kaguya from Naruto. It's based on the same legend. Kaguya was a child found in a bamboo stalk and was adopted by a human. She brought great fortune to her adoptive family since soon after the bamboo cutter always found gold hidden in bamboo. As she turned older she was so beautiful that 5 princes and even the emperor (5 princes notice something?) asked her to marry them. She put the 5 princes through impossible trials and they decided to fool her. She saw through her schemes though. The emperor didn't have to endure that, but she told him that it was impossible for her to marry him since she wasn't actually from his country. Soon after Kaguya always looked at the moon with teary eyes. Eventually she told her adoptive parents that she wasn't actually from earth, but from the moon. She had to return, but send a final letter to the emperor containing the elixir of immortality.
The emperor refused to drink it since he couldn't live without her. Instead he decided to go to the biggest mountain with his army to burn the elixir and a letter from him hoping that it would reach the moon.

How are the Gorosei related. Well the Gorosei are the 5 princes. Joyboy is most likely the emperor who actually married the god of the moon people. They decided to attack the ancient kingdom and acquired immortality that way. (maybe through a devil fruit or some other plot device) Afterwards they tried to erase all knowledge about the ancient kingdom, but couldn't manage to get rid of the survivors. The sky people decided to live in exile while the D's tried to live with the other races. They were branded as D though. Through the efforts of the Gorosei the actual meaning of the D became unknown though.

Not sure if anyone came up with this yet. Partial credit goes to the original creator of the half moon theory.

I heard of this theory before, thank you for putting it together. I think it's plausible.

I wonder if that planetary model is a reference to the nine realms in Norse mythology ? We can see seven planets/dimensions which leaves two more planets/dimensions. But the thing is we can only see the front of the planetary model, not the back. I think the remaining two planets/dimensions are in the back of the model hidden behind the central planet/dimension.

These dimensions were supposed to be connected to a tree http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20120803185030. Where is the tree ? Perhaps this tree became the Devil Fruits and spread all over the One Piece world ?

Very nicely spaced and organized. It makes a longer read much more enjoyable that way!

Now, to better understand the theory, I do have one question.

    Of Kings and Princes

Firstly, the 5 princes and Joy Boy. Are you proposing that all 6 of them are members of the 20 kingdoms that overthrew the Ancient Kingdom, or are you proposing they are potentially former members of the Ancient Kingdom that turned their backs on the Moon people, or even their kingdom itself in pursuit of immortality. For example, the kingdom had found immortality l, but forbid it's use. So, the 6 rebel.

I ask because from the context of the Poneglyphs, Joy Boy seemed to lament a promise made to the Fishmen. Which puts his position as an antagonistic force in qiestion.

What we know in regards to the ancient kingdom is that 20 kingdoms United to destroy it. 2 of which were Dressrosa and Alabasta. So, that questions if the Gorosei were from five of these nations, or betrayed the ancient kingdom to reveal it's weaknesses to the 20 kingdoms.

It also begs the question of why the Gorosei do not live like the descendants of the other nations as Celestial Dragons.

    Where Immortality is Concerned

Interesting pursuit. Especislly with pirates and the Fountain of Youth. Would not surprise me to see something like this have worth.

We do know of one immortality source: the Ope-Ope no Mi. Some have also theorized proof of its power is that Kaido's seemingly incapable of killing himself.

    Moon - Half Moon = D

The D theory is interesting. I can't really say anything against it.

I don't see the Bamboo Cutter story having as much impact though. Maybe with the Devil Fruit tree, but that would be it.

    Ohara

The Tree of Knowledge section I disagree with however. While Archeologists met there to study the given Poneglyph, the Tree of Knowledge was a library filled with books of historical value. Likely containing anything from ancient documents to old folk tales. A planetary model is not surprising as the Archeologists study practically everything.

Very nice work despite my devil's advocacy!

Nice theory Actually, I think you've mentioned this in one of my threads before.

There's nothing to really pick at. I think it just depends on whether or not anyone wants to believe it Though, I see it being difficult to tie Joy Boy in with the Gorosei. And now that we know the Gorosei don't actually have as much power as we thought, it makes it even more confooosing.

    @KGB @Wrath
Joyboy isn't in with the Gorosei. The Gorosei are 5 princes of the ancient kingdom who betrayed it eventually. Would go more indepth, but on phone right now.

Are the half moon people (D) hybrids between moon people and humans? Is that why they are called half moon?
The mountain mentioned in the legend could be Mariejois, and the destruction of the elixir could have created the Red Line.

Hence then joyboy felt obliged to save the fishmen with Noah, because if that created the red line, then the grand line and fishmen isolation are the consequences of joy boy's actions.
    Think you know about powerscaling?
Then come to the Tier List Thread and prove it!!

Mm, I suppose they don't have to be linked, except through the princess. It's a solid theory. Oda might be using it for OP, with some deviations.

OK. That nicely clears things up. Thanks. It'd be interesting if the Gorosei do in fact have immortality. Make having to deal with them difficult.
