It was a pretty alright chapter. Pissed from the fact that Oda decided to skip Sanji's fight and jump to the next morning...

Kyoshiro is a beast, hope he gets a proper fight. Disappointed from the ninjas so far, are they really not aware of the existence of DFs? They seem like a bunch of fodders ugh

    oh and most importantly:

    This chapter was alright.
Any chapter with brook is a treat, so I enjoyed it more with him in it. Also, Brook showing his CoC this chapter

Kyoshiro being an ally or not is interesting.

Orochi and the ninjas aren't exuding confidence and that annoys me. Y'all can't defend shit and are looking like fools.

Shinobu's ball buster move was hilarious.

    Pretty cool chapter.

Don't think the courtesan is dead. I think Kyoshiru is skilled enough to strike without killing. Still think he's one of the red scabbards and that the courtesan is Oden's daughter.

If Kyoshiru knows this and he's a red scabbard, then he did it to protect her. To save her from being killed by Orochi.
And since he probably raised her, it further cements that he probably knows her and has been protecting her all this time.

Would be pretty smart too. By marrying to the Shogun, the rightful family would take power in Wano again.

Other than that, was really cool seeing Brook, Robin and Nami in action. Can't wait to see the aftermath.

Orochi with the 8 heads makes me believe he's a great opponent for Zoro. 3 sword style vs 8 dragon heads. Wonder if he can spit fire or other elements through his dragon heads? Pushing Zoro to learn how to cut it.

And LOL. Chopper is going to take Big Mom into the prison where Luffy is being held at? That's a great idea for a prison break
    Think you know about powerscaling?
Then come to the Tier List Thread and prove it!!

Eichiro Oda, came out this year with "A Samurai's Mercy", a distinctly personal collection of pages showcasing the extent to which life has battered down his aesthetic machinations, but for the better. Having had to deal with a close friend attempting suicide twice and the cancer diagnosis of an acquiantance, this chapter spawned from the desperation of impending death and finality. In some ways, this chapter is a testament to the power of constant reminders of mortality.

Oda seems obssessed with tragic figures and the heaviness of looking at life from a wide scope: most of the words spoken in this album attempt to encapsulate the catharsis of processing existence from a cosmic, mythological lens, and consequently, "A Samurai's Mercy" feels like a monument to the heaviness of existence. The fourth page taps into the power of anger. Having had writers block for two years, Oda reflects on the experience of writing this Chapter:

"The chapter "'A Samurai's Mercy" was one of the first chapters I actually wrote and was like, I like that. That did something for me. I hadn’t experienced that in so long. It felt very pure, or something. The thematic isn't so straightforward, but I think in general I was channeling all of my anger and resentment and grief and depression. It was coming out as a battle cry, where I was feeling helpless and trying to take control of everything I was going through. I was trying to turn it into power.
It’s angry. It’s red and black. It’s like blood. It’s like a battle. It’s frustrated, and at the same time violent. I felt very violent when I was writing it. Maniacal. Usually my writing is a lot more contemplative and introspective. Everything with the teeth and the claws — it’s just primal rage. One of the few weapons animals have are their teeth, their jaws, their bite. You don’t have anything but your own utility that you’re born with. I didn’t think about these stories at all, it was all automatic, but I think it came from this feral place. That’s what I felt like. Like an animal."

Even though not every page reflects this primal ethos in aesthetic, most of this chapter reflects it in theme and symbolism: What are you going to do with your own life? You're going to die. You're going to die. You're going to die.

I doubt Komurasaki is dead, though that looks like real blood coming from her mouth, so I wonder how they pulled off that trickery.

I liked seeing the other Strawhats get in on the action and have some fight scenes. It's kind of funny how for years we were all talking about how Zoro would have an epic clash with the Shogun of Wano Country... fast forward a few years and Nami is potentially knocking him out in one hit.

Oh, I'm also kind of annoyed Nami's only weather balls are lightning. She used heat and snow before, we should get more of that!

    Still the Hero.

One of those Orochi samurai goons looks like he has the Doa Doa fruit... or is it just me? Those horns and body shape don't fool me! And the fact that he doesn't know who Brook is changes nothing! Undercover again! :P

Brook is the man, plain and simple

I love the ninja moves! Appearing anywhere. That ninja was looking up Namis' skirt lmfao, that nut shot must've hurt more than normal

Decent chapter, always nice to see Zeus. There were a couple of panels where I thought the courtesan was Robin because they look so much alike. Oda needs to do some fixing to his head shapes. The action can be hard to follow when 3 girls (robin included) in the room look the same.

lmao, one of the funniest panels. My favorite was actually on the last page where big mom asks Chopper to Shake her hand or 'Give her his paw' like he's a puppy doing tricks

And ya, I get the feeling that the ninjas are mostly comedic relief at this point, but they have to at least be somewhat strong. Like look at that guy Hanzo. He's a giant of a guy but was still able to be stealth as fuck. That's promising imo.

yohohoho, I was glad to see brook making some ninja poop their pants, I just wish he actually fought a bit. I really wanted him to try and intercept kyoshiro's blade before he cut komurasaki. No luck.

Oh, I'm sure he actually cut her. But I also think she's not dead. My theory is that they are in cahoots. He had to make it look real, and as a highly skilled samurai with a precise touch and blade, he's able to inflict a wound that can damage severely without risking her life. I would not be shocked if he could do that. I'm sure Zoro could do something like that too if he ever showed an interest in finesse or subtlety too, but then he wouldn't be Zoro...

Blueno from CP9? I can actually kinda see it now that you mention it. Interesting

Sadly doubt we're gonna see more of that right now. Maybe in a flashback. Oda is moving forward like a man with a plan, and we may get a snippet of the battle, but he's already on to bigger and better things. All that will matter is a) sanji won and b) sanji got away before more shit hit the fan.

    Spoiler!
